The charming Marlène Tinel produces subtle, terroir-driven Sauvignon from 15 hectares around Pouilly-sur-Loire. We buy just one of her wines but what a delightful wine it is: Arrêt[1]Buffatte hails from the eponymous parcel of vines which lies on the Roman road linking Paris and Clermont-Ferrand (the name derives from it being a popular place in Roman times to stop for a snack). Kimmeridgian marl predominates here, and the vines are an average 45 years old.
