- Country South Africa
- Region Stellenbosch
Collectible Vintage was conceived by Master Sommeliers Gareth Ferreira and Ronan Sayburn, with the objective of showcasing some of South Africa’s most spectacular terroirs and most distinguished winemakers.
South African born Gareth is Beverage Director at three Michelin star CORE by Clare Smyth while Ronan’s glittering CV includes Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, Royal Hospital Road and 67 Pall Mall. Both are long-time clients (and friends) of Flint, and two of the most respected figures in the hospitality business.
The inaugural wine from Collectible Vintage, Oniv Chenin Blanc, was made by the great Ian Naudé – and has proved one of the most popular recent additions to Flint’s portfolio.
Spring 2025 sees a trio of new releases to sit alongside Oniv, with a list of collaborators that reads like a who’s who of the best contemporary South African winemakers. It includes Duncan Savage for Surin, a fresh, textured Sauv-Sem blend, and Johannes Storm for the irresistible Velour Pinot Noir. Mineral and distinctly coastal Aurelia Chardonnay combines fruit from Restless River, Newton Johnson and Crystallum.
Each of the wines combines approachability with a sense of place. They encapsulate the confidence, know-how and diversity – of varietals and terroir – that make South Africa as exciting a country as any in the world today from a fine wine lover’s perspective.
