The history of the Bara family working in Champagne can be traced back to 1600, but the house as we know it today was born in Bouzy, the renowned Grand Cru village in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, in 1833. Paul’s daughter, Chantal, is the 7th generation to run the 11 hectare family estate. Bouzy is famed for its Pinot Noir, so it comes as no surprise that the cuvées made here focus on this variety. The special cuvées, made only in exceptional years and in small volumes, are dominated by Pinot Noir. Stylistically the wines have a richness of fruit combined with beautiful vibrancy and punctuation.
